Butyl propionate is an organic compound. It is a colorless transparent liquid with a scent similar to that of apples. It is commonly used as an essence and flavoring agent, and can also be used as a solvent for nitrocellulose.

Butyl Propionate (a food additive, FEMA 2211) is mainly used for blending fruit flavors such as apple and pear. It is suitable for candies (hard candies, jelly), beverages (juice, soda), baked goods (cakes, cookies), and dairy products (flavored yogurt).
4- العبوة والتخزين
Butyl propionate is packaged in 25kg galvanized iron drums or HDPE plastic drums with a food-grade inner lining of PE film. It should be stored in a cool and ventilated place (< 25℃), away from fire sources and oxidants. The shelf life is 24 months.
