Isovaleric acid is also known as 3-methylbutyric acid. It has an unpleasant rancid odor and a pungent odor similar to body odor. It is a colorless viscous liquid. It is soluble in water (1/24), ethanol, ether, and chloroform.

3- نطاق التطبيق والاستخدام
Isovaleric Acid is mainly used in food flavors, pharmaceutical intermediates (for the synthesis of sedatives), feed additives (for attracting animals), and cosmetic fragrances (as the base material for sweat-scented perfumes).
4- العبوة والتخزين
Isovaleric acid is packaged in 25kg HDPE plastic drums or aluminum drums. For food-grade products, nitrogen must be filled for protection. It should be stored in a cool, dark place (< 25℃), kept tightly sealed to prevent oxidation, and kept away from strong alkalis and oxidants. Protective equipment (with strong irritating smell) must be worn during operation. The shelf life is 24 months.
