G-18 is a water- and ethanol-soluble, non-ionic humectant. It appears as a colorless to light yellow viscous liquid, stable across cosmetic pH, compatible with cationic, anionic and non-ionic surfactants, and insoluble in oils.

3.Ámbito de aplicación y uso
G-18 is widely used as a humectant, lubricant and foam enhancer in creams, lotions, shampoos, conditioners, shower gels and oral care products. It prevents moisture loss, improves skin feel and boosts the stability of foam. In addition, it serves as an intermediate for synthesizing fatty acid esters in personal-care raw materials. Typical use levels range from 1 % to 10 %, added during the aqueous phase at 50–75 °C under gentle agitation.
4.Embalaje y almacenamiento
G-18 is packed in 50 kg net, food-grade, non-reactive HDPE drums with tamper-evident closures. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated warehouse away from oxidizers, strong acids and direct sunlight. Keep containers tightly closed to prevent moisture pick-up and contamination. Handle as a normal chemical; avoid freezing. Shelf life is two years from production date when stored under recommended conditions.
