El acetato de metilo es un l\u00edquido transparente e incoloro con un agradable olor afrutado. Es muy vol\u00e1til, f\u00e1cilmente miscible con la mayor\u00eda de los disolventes org\u00e1nicos y parcialmente soluble en agua. Tiene un punto de ebullici\u00f3n de 56,9 \u00b0C, un punto de fusi\u00f3n de -98 \u00b0C, una densidad de 0,932 g cm-\u00b3 a 20 \u00b0C y un punto de inflamaci\u00f3n de -10 \u00b0C.<\/p>\n

El acetato de metilo es un disolvente de evaporaci\u00f3n r\u00e1pida muy utilizado en nitrocelulosa, acetato de celulosa, pinturas, revestimientos, adhesivos y quitaesmaltes. Sirve como intermediario en la s\u00edntesis org\u00e1nica para producir productos farmac\u00e9uticos, agroqu\u00edmicos y fragancias. Su baja toxicidad y agradable olor tambi\u00e9n lo hacen adecuado para procesos de aromatizaci\u00f3n y extracci\u00f3n de alimentos.<\/p>\n

4.Embalaje y almacenamiento<\/h3>\n

Se suministra en bidones de acero revestidos de epoxi de 180 kg, contenedores IBC de 850 kg o cisternas ISO de 20 t. Los lotes peque\u00f1os se envasan en jerricanes de HDPE de 25 L homologados por la ONU. Almacenar en un lugar fresco, seco y bien ventilado, alejado de fuentes de ignici\u00f3n, oxidantes y \u00e1cidos.
