El acetato de etilo es un l\u00edquido incoloro y fragante con olor afrutado a pera. Es muy vol\u00e1til, miscible con la mayor\u00eda de los disolventes org\u00e1nicos y parcialmente soluble en agua (8,3 % a 20 \u00b0C). Punto de ebullici\u00f3n 77 \u00b0C, densidad 0,902 g cm-\u00b3 a 20 \u00b0C, punto de inflamaci\u00f3n -4 \u00b0C; los vapores forman mezclas explosivas con el aire.<\/p>\n

3.\u00c1mbito de aplicaci\u00f3n y uso<\/h3>\n

El acetato de etilo es uno de los \u00e9steres de \u00e1cidos grasos m\u00e1s utilizados. Es un disolvente de secado r\u00e1pido con una excelente solubilidad y es un excelente disolvente industrial. Tambi\u00e9n puede utilizarse como eluyente en cromatograf\u00eda en columna. Puede utilizarse para nitrocelulosa, etilcelulosa, caucho clorado y resinas de vinilo, \u00e9steres de acetato de celulosa, acetato de butilo de celulosa y caucho sint\u00e9tico. Tambi\u00e9n puede utilizarse como tinta l\u00edquida de nitrocelulosa para fotocopiadoras. Puede utilizarse como disolvente para adhesivos y diluyente para pintura. El acetato de etilo es un disolvente muy eficaz para muchos tipos de resinas y se utiliza mucho en la producci\u00f3n de tintas y en la fabricaci\u00f3n de cuero artificial. Se utiliza como reactivo anal\u00edtico, sustancia patr\u00f3n para an\u00e1lisis cromatogr\u00e1ficos y disolvente.<\/p>\n

El acetato de etilo se suministra en bidones de acero con revestimiento epoxi de 180 kg, contenedores cisterna ISO de 20 m\u00b3 o contenedores IBC de 1.000 litros. Cantidades m\u00e1s peque\u00f1as est\u00e1n disponibles en latas de HDPE de 20 L aprobadas por la ONU. Almacenar en un lugar fresco y bien ventilado por debajo de 30 \u00b0C, lejos de oxidantes, \u00e1cidos y fuentes de ignici\u00f3n.
