El estireno es un l\u00edquido aceitoso, de incoloro a amarillento, con un caracter\u00edstico olor dulce pero penetrante. Es menos denso que el agua, pr\u00e1cticamente insoluble en agua, pero miscible con la mayor\u00eda de los disolventes org\u00e1nicos. Es muy inflamable y se polimeriza f\u00e1cilmente al exponerse a la luz, el calor o el ox\u00edgeno, a menos que se inhiba adecuadamente.<\/p>\n

3.\u00c1mbito de aplicaci\u00f3n y uso<\/h3>\n

El estireno es el mon\u00f3mero esencial del poliestireno y de una amplia gama de copol\u00edmeros como el ABS, el SBR y el SBS. Estos materiales se transforman en espumas de embalaje, envases alimentarios, art\u00edculos dom\u00e9sticos, piezas de autom\u00f3vil y paneles de construcci\u00f3n. Tambi\u00e9n se utiliza como disolvente reactivo en resinas de poli\u00e9ster insaturado para barcos, ba\u00f1eras y dep\u00f3sitos resistentes a la corrosi\u00f3n, y como precursor de resinas alqu\u00eddicas estirenadas en pinturas y revestimientos .<\/p>\n

4.Embalaje y almacenamiento<\/h3>\n

El estireno se suministra en bidones de acero con revestimiento epoxi de 200 kg, IBC compuestos de 1 000 L o contenedores isotanque de acero inoxidable de 20-25 m\u00b3. Todos los envases se cubren con nitr\u00f3geno y contienen 10-15 ppm de inhibidor de 4-terc-butilcatecol. Almacenar en un lugar fresco, bien ventilado y a prueba de explosiones por debajo de 25 \u00b0C, lejos de la luz solar, oxidantes y fuentes de ignici\u00f3n. Evitar el almacenamiento prolongado a m\u00e1s de 30 \u00b0C; rotar las existencias cada seis meses y controlar el nivel de inhibidor antes de reutilizar.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
