Es un componente activo en decapantes y desengrasantes. El producto qu\u00edmico se emplea en fluidos de limpieza electr\u00f3nica y aplicaciones de limpieza de precisi\u00f3n. En productos de cuidado personal, funciona como disolvente portador de fragancias. El DPM tambi\u00e9n se utiliza en formulaciones agr\u00edcolas y como producto intermedio para la s\u00edntesis qu\u00edmica. El almacenamiento debe realizarse en zonas frescas y bien ventiladas, lejos de fuentes de calor y agentes oxidantes. Los contenedores deben mantenerse bien cerrados para evitar la absorci\u00f3n de humedad. El producto es estable en condiciones normales con una vida \u00fatil recomendada de 24 meses.
