Antistatic agents are a type of additive that is added to plastics or coated on the surface of molded products to reduce the accumulation of static electricity. Generally, based on the different application methods, antistatic agents can be classified into two major categories: internal addition type and external coating type. The main type used in plastics is the internal addition type antistatic agent. They can also be divided into two major categories according to the performance of the antistatic agents: temporary and permanent.

三．Application du champ d'application et utilisation
Basic Functions:
Used as an anti-static agent, emulsifier, re-wetting agent and lubricant
Suitable for pesticides, herbicides, oil additive agents and textile lubricants
Used as an emulsifier for water-based inks and cosmetics
Product characteristics and applications of each model:
(1) Dibeta-hydroxyethyl cocamidopropylamine:
Used as an internal additive type anti-static agent for polypropylene and ABS resins
Suitable for steam generation and circulation systems, it also has anti-static and anti-corrosion functions.
(2) Bis-(β-hydroxyethyl) stearic acid amine:
Plastic-specific anti-static agent, especially suitable for polystyrene and its copolymers
It has excellent compatibility, heat resistance and stability, and is safe and non-toxic.
Typical application cases:
① Mining pipelines: Adding 0.25 parts (containing 55% auxiliary materials) to high-pressure polyethylene can stabilize the surface resistance at 10⁸ Ω.
② Washing machine inner containers: Adding 0.3 – 0.5% (containing 55% auxiliary materials) to polypropylene resin makes the products less prone to staining and easier to clean.
It can also serve as an emulsifier for oil-based substances with anti-corrosion properties.
(3) Dibeta-hydroxyethyl stearamine:
Used as an internal additive type anti-static agent for polyethylene
The recommended addition amount is 0.5 – 2%.
