1. Product Property

Cyclohexylamine is a clear to pale yellow liquid with a strong, fishy, amine-like odor. It is highly soluble in water and miscible with most organic solvents such as alcohols, ethers, and ketones. It has a boiling point of approximately 134.5°C and a melting point of −17.7°C. The compound is corrosive and hygroscopic, and it should be handled with care due to its irritant properties.

3. Application Scope and Usage

Cyclohexylamine is widely used in the production of rubber accelerators, corrosion inhibitors, and plasticizers. It serves as an intermediate in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and dyes. It is also used in water treatment chemicals and as a precursor for sweeteners such as sodium cyclamate. Due to its strong basicity, it is often employed in organic synthesis as a base or catalyst in condensation and alkylation reactions.

4. Package and Storage

Cyclohexylamine should be stored in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area, away from oxidizing agents and acids. It is sensitive to air and moisture, so it is recommended to store it under an inert atmosphere such as nitrogen. The product is typically packed in 180 kg galvanized iron drums or ISO tanks for bulk transport. Drums should be tightly sealed and kept upright to prevent leakage.
