Il a un bon effet inhibiteur sur les moisissures, les levures et les bact\u00e9ries et est largement utilis\u00e9 dans le traitement des boissons, des denr\u00e9es alimentaires et des aliments pour animaux. Il peut prolonger la p\u00e9riode de stockage et pr\u00e9venir les pertes dues aux moisissures. Son m\u00e9canisme d'action consiste \u00e0 p\u00e9n\u00e9trer efficacement dans le corps cellulaire, \u00e0 inhiber la respiration des micro-organismes et \u00e0 obtenir ainsi des effets anticorrosion, antimoisissures, de conservation et de r\u00e9tention de l'humidit\u00e9.
