Le trist\u00e9arate de glyc\u00e9ryle est une poudre cristalline incolore et inodore au l\u00e9ger go\u00fbt sucr\u00e9. Il fond \u00e0 environ 55-60 \u00b0C et se dissout facilement dans l'\u00e9thanol chaud, le chloroforme, le benz\u00e8ne et le disulfure de carbone, tout en \u00e9tant pratiquement insoluble dans l'eau, l'\u00e9thanol froid, l'\u00e9ther et l'\u00e9ther de p\u00e9trole. L'ester pr\u00e9sente d'excellentes propri\u00e9t\u00e9s lubrifiantes, \u00e9mulsifiantes et durcissantes. Il est chimiquement stable dans des conditions neutres, mais subit une saponification ou une d\u00e9gradation oxydative lorsqu'il est expos\u00e9 \u00e0 des acides forts ou \u00e0 des oxydants.<\/p>\n

Le trist\u00e9arate de glyc\u00e9ryle est largement utilis\u00e9 dans les industries pharmaceutiques, alimentaires et de soins personnels. Dans les produits pharmaceutiques, il sert d'excipient, d'\u00e9mulsifiant et de base de suppositoire pour les cr\u00e8mes, les pommades et les matrices \u00e0 lib\u00e9ration contr\u00f4l\u00e9e. Dans l'alimentation, il sert d'agent texturant et \u00e9mulsifiant pour les confiseries, la margarine et les nappages fouett\u00e9s. Dans les cosm\u00e9tiques, il donne de la consistance aux cr\u00e8mes, lotions, shampooings et rouges \u00e0 l\u00e8vres, tandis que dans les applications techniques, il sert de lubrifiant, d'agent de polissage et d'additif imperm\u00e9abilisant pour le traitement du papier, des textiles et du cuir.<\/p>\n
