Son taux d'\u00e9vaporation lent am\u00e9liore l'\u00e9coulement et r\u00e9duit le rougissement dans les finitions tr\u00e8s brillantes. Dans le secteur pharmaceutique, il est utilis\u00e9 pour l'extraction et la cristallisation, tandis que dans les cosm\u00e9tiques, il est utilis\u00e9 comme solvant pour les produits de soin des ongles.
