L'\u00e9ther \u00e9thylique de l'\u00e9thyl\u00e8ne glycol est largement utilis\u00e9 comme solvant dans la formulation des peintures, des rev\u00eatements, des encres et des agents de nettoyage. Il est particuli\u00e8rement efficace pour dissoudre la nitrocellulose, les r\u00e9sines acryliques et les compos\u00e9s \u00e9poxy. Il est \u00e9galement utilis\u00e9 dans l'industrie \u00e9lectronique pour le nettoyage et le d\u00e9graissage des composants. En outre, il sert d'agent de couplage dans les syst\u00e8mes \u00e0 base d'eau et d'agent coalescent dans les peintures au latex. Les conteneurs doivent \u00eatre ferm\u00e9s herm\u00e9tiquement pour \u00e9viter l'absorption d'humidit\u00e9 et l'oxydation. \u00c9viter tout contact avec des agents oxydants puissants et des acides.
