It is used as a detergent, thickener, foaming stabilizer and corrosion inhibitor in dyeing auxiliaries; as a rust inhibitor for copper and iron; and is used as a foam stabilizer and viscosity modifier in shampoos, light dirt detergents and liquid soaps.
