Chlorine dioxide is widely used in food processing for sterilization of water, equipment, and surfaces in industries like beverage, food production. It can disinfect raw materials, such as fruits and vegetables, by spraying or soaking at proper concentrations (usually 10 – 200 ppm depending on the application). It effectively controls microbial growth, extends shelf – life, and ensures food safety without significant impact on food quality when used correctly.

4. Package and Storage

For gaseous form, special pressure – resistant containers are used. For liquid formulations (stable ones), it is packaged in food – grade plastic or glass containers, sealed tightly. Store in a cool, dry, well – ventilated place away from flammable, reducing substances. Avoid direct sunlight and high temperatures. Keep containers tightly closed during storage to prevent leakage and maintain its stability and effectiveness.
