1.Product Property

n-Butyl acetate is a colorless, flammable liquid with a pleasant fruity odor reminiscent of pear. It has a boiling point of 126 °C, a melting point of –78 °C and a density of 0.882 g cm⁻³ at 20 °C. The solvent is moderately polar, miscible with most organic solvents, and only sparingly soluble in water, giving rapid evaporation and low residual odor.

2.Technical Norm

Water content ≤ 0.05 %
Acidity (as CH₃COOH) ≤ 0.01 %
Color (APHA) ≤ 10
Density (20 °C) 0.878 – 0.883 g/cm³

3.Application Scope and Usage

n-Butyl acetate is widely employed as a medium-boiling solvent in nitrocellulose lacquers, automotive paints, furniture coatings and printing inks. Its slow evaporation rate improves flow and reduces blushing in high-gloss finishes. In the pharmaceutical sector it is used for extraction and crystallization, while in cosmetics it appears as a solvent for nail care products. Food-grade material serves as a flavoring agent and extraction solvent for natural essences.

4.Package and Storage

Store in a cool, well-ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire sources and heat sources. The warehouse temperature should not exceed 30℃. Keep the container sealed. Store separately from oxidants, acids, and bases. Avoid mixing storage. Use explosion-proof lighting and ventilation facilities. Do not use mechanical equipment or tools that may generate sparks. The storage area should be equipped with emergency handling equipment for leaks and appropriate containment materials.
