1.Product Property

n-Propyl acetate is a colorless, mobile liquid with a pleasant fruity odor reminiscent of pears. It is highly volatile, readily miscible with most organic solvents, and partially soluble in water. Physical constants include a boiling point of 101.6 °C, melting point –95 °C, density 0.887 g cm⁻³ at 20 °C, and a flash point of 14 °C (closed cup), making it flammable and requiring careful handling.

2.Technical Norm

Parameter Specification
Appearance Colorless liquid
Purity (GC) ≥ 99.5 %
Water ≤ 0.10 %
Acidity (as acetic) ≤ 0.01 %
Color (APHA) ≤ 10

3.Application Scope and Usage

n-Propyl acetate is widely employed as a medium-boiling solvent in nitrocellulose lacquers, printing inks, adhesives and high-grade automotive coatings where it imparts excellent flow and blush resistance. It serves as an extraction agent for natural flavors and pharmaceuticals, and is increasingly used in fragrance formulations for personal-care products and household cleaners because of its pleasant, non-residual scent.

4.Package and Storage

n-Propyl acetate is normally packed in 180 kg epoxy-coated steel drums, 850 kg IBC totes, or 20 MT ISO tank containers. Smaller lots are offered in 25 L UN-approved HDPE drums or glass bottles within plywood boxes. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated warehouse away from ignition sources, oxidizers, acids and foodstuffs. Keep containers tightly closed and grounded to prevent static discharge; recommended storage temperature is below 30 °C and out of direct sunlight.
