Styrenated phenol(SP)
CAS: 61788-44-1
Alias: Styrenated phenol, SP, Antioxidant SP
Molecular formula: C30H30O
Relative molecular mass: 406.6
1.Product Property
Antioxidant SP is a pale-yellow to amber viscous liquid with faint odor, density 1.08 g cm⁻³ at 25 °C. It is soluble in most non-polar organic solvents, insoluble in water, and exhibits excellent heat, light and oxidation resistance for rubber and polymers.
2.Technical Norm

3.Application Scope and Usage
SP is widely applied in natural and synthetic rubbers (NR, SBR, BR, NBR) and latex compounds to prevent oxidative degradation during processing, storage and service. Dosage ranges from 0.5–3.0 phr depending on polymer type and service temperature. It functions synergistically with other antioxidants and antiozonants, and can be incorporated directly on open mills or in solution/emulsion systems.
4.Package and Storage
Supplied in 200 kg net galvanized steel drums or 1000 kg net IBC totes, lined with inert coating. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated warehouse away from direct sunlight, oxidizers and strong acids. Keep containers tightly closed; recommended storage temperature is 5–35 °C. Shelf life is 24 months under proper conditions; re-test after expiry.
