1.Product Property

Acrylic acid is a colorless, corrosive liquid with an acrid odor. Completely miscible with water and common organic solvents, it melts at 13 °C and boils at 140.9 °C under atmospheric pressure. Density is 1.051 g cm⁻³ at 20 °C; vapor pressure 1.33 kPa at 39.9 °C. Critical pressure reaches 5.66 MPa.

3.Application Scope and Usage

 

Acrylic acid is the cornerstone monomer for super-absorbent polymers used in hygiene products and water-retaining gels. It copolymerizes to produce high-performance acrylic resins, pressure-sensitive adhesives, paints, textile finishes, and leather coatings. Its esters serve as building blocks for specialty plastics, detergents and scale inhibitors in water treatment.

4.Package and Storage

 

Supplied in 200 kg epoxy-coated steel drums, 1000 kg IBC totes, or 20–24 m³ ISO tank containers. Small lab quantities are packed in 25 kg HDPE drums with vented bungs. Store in a cool, shaded area below 25 °C away from oxidizers, bases and peroxides; maintain 180–220 ppm MEHQ inhibitor. Ensure nitrogen blanketing and grounding during transfer to prevent polymerization and static discharge.
