CAS: 9080-79-9
Alias: AEP, Alkali-resistant wetting agent AEP, OEP-98 (trade variant)
Alkali resistance: Resistant to 200g NaOH/L
1.Product Property
AEP is a clear, pale-yellow viscous liquid with mild odor; readily soluble in water, caustic soda, and most polar solvents. It retains excellent wetting power up to 200 g L⁻¹ NaOH at 80 °C, shows low foam, resists hard water and electrolytes, and remains stable between pH 1–14.
2.TECHNICAL NORM
Parameter | Specification |
Appearance (25 °C) | Clear, pale-yellow liquid |
Active content (%) | ≥99 |
pH (1 % solution) | 1–3 |
Alkali resistance | ≥200 g L⁻¹ NaOH, clear, stable |
Penetration time (7 g L⁻¹ in 120 g L⁻¹ NaOH) | ≤10 s |
Water content (%) | ≤0.5 |
Color, APHA | ≤100 |
3. Application Scope and Usage
AEP is used in cotton, hemp and blended fabric pretreatment—scouring, mercerizing and desizing—under strong alkaline conditions. It accelerates liquor penetration, removes waxes, oils and pectin, and prevents white spots. It is also formulated into industrial bottle-washing detergents, metal alkaline degreasers, and ceramic grinding aids. Typical dosage: 3–10 g L⁻¹ in 40–200 g L⁻¹ NaOH baths; compatible with non-ionic and other anionic auxiliaries.
4.Package and Storage
AEP is packaged in 120 kg polyethylene drums or 50 kg plastic pails. Solid variants (if applicable) are supplied in 25 kg woven bags with inner liners. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. The product is non-flammable and stable for 24 months when sealed. Use corrosion-resistant materials for storage tanks to prevent contamination.
