Alias: Glyceryl oleate, Monoolein, GMO
1.Product Property
GMO is a yellow to reddish-brown viscous liquid, insoluble in water but readily soluble in most organic solvents. It exhibits excellent emulsifying, thickening, defoaming and antistatic properties, is non-irritating to skin, and remains stable under normal storage conditions.
2.Technical Norm
Parameter | Specification |
Appearance | Yellow–red-brown liquid |
Acid value | 152–162 mg KOH g⁻¹ |
Saponification value | 150–165 mg KOH g⁻¹ |
Moisture | ≤1.0 % |
Iodine value | 65–75 g I₂ 100 g⁻¹ |
Hydroxyl value | 160–180 mg KOH g⁻¹ |
3.Application Scope and Usage
GMO serves as a versatile emulsifier and conditioner in cosmetic emulsions, creams, lotions and shampoos, imparting viscosity control, opacity and foam suppression. In textiles it acts as a softening and antistatic finishing agent; in plastics it functions as an internal antistat for PE, PP and PVC at 0.5–2.0 %. Additionally, it is employed as a pigment-grinding aid and lubricant in coatings and inks.
4.Package and Storage
Product is supplied in 50 kg net tight-head HDPE drums with tamper-evident seals. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated warehouse away from direct sunlight, oxidizing agents and strong acids. Keep drums tightly closed and avoid exposure to moisture. Handle as a non-hazardous chemical; shelf life is 24 months from date of manufacture when stored under recommended conditions.
