1、‌Product Property‌

Sodium diacetate is a white crystalline powder with a characteristic acetic acid odor. It is freely soluble in water and exhibits antimicrobial properties, particularly against molds and bacteria. The compound is a molecular complex of sodium acetate and acetic acid, releasing acetic acid gradually in aqueous solutions. It is stable under normal conditions but may decompose at elevated temperatures. As a food additive, it serves as both a preservative and a flavoring agent, with GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) status.

3. Application Scope and Usage

Sodium diacetate is widely used as a preservative in baked goods, meat products, and snack foods to inhibit mold and bacterial growth. It functions as a flavor enhancer in seasonings and condiments, providing a mild vinegar taste. The compound is particularly effective in bread preservation, extending shelf life without affecting quality. In animal feed, it serves as an antimicrobial agent and acidifier. Approved usage levels vary by application, typically ranging from 0.1% to 0.4% in food products. Its gradual release of acetic acid makes it more effective than direct vinegar addition in many applications.

4. Package and Storage

Sodium diacetate is packed in plastic bags as the inner packaging and in kraft paper bags as the outer packaging, with a net weight of 25KG. When storing, keep it sealed, at low temperatures, protected from moisture and sunlight. Do not store it together with other alkaline substances or toxic substances. During the processing of feed additives in feed, high temperatures should be avoided to prevent the decomposition of sodium diacetate and reduce its edible effect.
